"The most powerful intelligence is not the one that replaces humans, but the one that helps them decide better."
Véronique Ventos
Co-Founder & Head of Research
critical decisions should never be delegated blindly
to machines.
involved, intelligence must remain understandable, controllable and
accountable.
It started with a game,
From Bridge to real-world decision systems
Bridge is one of the most complex games ever invented. It requires reasoning under uncertainty, cooperation between partners, incomplete information, and constant adaptation — all under strong constraints.
In 2014, Véronique Ventos and Jean-Baptiste Fantun set out to build an AI capable of competing with the world's best bridge players. Not to replace them — but to understand how humans reason, coordinate and decide in complex situations.

The AI system defeated top international bridge champions. More importantly, the team
publicly explained how the system reasoned — a rare achievement in AI.
From scientific breakthrough to real-world impact
The question quickly became: What if the same principles could help humans make better decisions in the real world ?
- Constraints are strict
- Human responsibility cannot be removed
- Situations evolve in real time

The People Behind NukkAI
The minds driving NukkAI’s growth and technological excellence.

Véronique Ventos is a researcher in artificial intelligence with over 30 years of experience. She leads NukkAI’s scientific vision, ensuring that all systems remain rigorous, explainable, and grounded in real-world decision-making. She holds a PhD in Symbolic AI from Sorbonne Paris Nord University and has spent her career developing original approaches at the intersection of reasoning and human cognition. Her work is internationally recognized, and she was ranked 3rd most influential woman in AI worldwide by Forbes in 2020.

Jean-Baptiste Fantun brings a complementary perspective combining strategy, systems design, and real-world deployment. A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique with a background in mathematics, he has worked across public and private sectors, from financial consulting to innovation in startups and public institutions. A high-level bridge player, he has ranked among the best French players and won several national titles — an experience that strongly shaped NukkAI’s approach to complex decision systems.

Humans and machines
as thinking partners
We reject the binary narrative of humans vs. machines. The world works better when both
intelligences think together — orchestrated, not opposed.

The Team
NukkAI brings together researchers, engineers and product builders who share a common belief:
complex systems deserve thoughtful, transparent intelligence.
PhDs and research engineers
Experts in optimization, reasoning and human–AI interaction
Bridge champions and domain experts
